What’s a Work Week?

What’s a Work Week?

What’s a work week? While I was growing up it was a 5 day, 40 hour work week. I seem to be working all the time now. Some of my work is a self-imposed expectation and some comes from others. I have been struggling with this as the lines between my work, learning, fun, and volunteering blur. I work as a K12 tech integration specialist. I support teachers and students using technology effectively in the classroom for learning and collaboration….

This I Believe

This I Believe

Jen Wagner has tagged me in the This I believe meme started by Barry Bachenheimer I have been mulling this over a few days. Hoping to come up with something witty and inspiring. What do I believe about education? My answer has changed over the years. As I have matured as an educator, became a parent, varied my experiences and shared with other educators I find I am not the same teacher I was 20 plus years ago (thank God)….

Happy Rez Day to Me!

Happy Rez Day to Me!

One year ago today I began my adventures exploring Second Life as a networking tool. It is so hard to believe that it has only been a year. In that time I have met so many wonderful people, learned to much and had a blast doing it. How do I explain you?

How do I explain you?

* The original post disappeared, this is a re-write to the best of my memory. How do I explain you, my network? Within our Ed Tech department we have been discussing the issues I listed on a previous post. I have also been talking to educators from various schools. Every day I make the following comments; I was speaking with…, I was chatting with an educator from…etc. I always get some pretty odd looks and I believe they think I…

Thinking Blog Award

Thinking Blog Award

Jen Wagner has tagged me with the Thinking Blog Award, I am flattered. As my past English teachers can attest I have always struggled with writing. Get me talking, I won’t stop. Try to get me writing, I won’t start. I blog for two reasons; to force myself to learn to how to write and to keep track of my ever evolving journey into learning and technology. I have to say it has been quite a journey this last year…

A Mini Technology Fast

A Mini Technology Fast

A while back my family discussed the idea of having a technology fast. Once a month we pick a day usually on a weekend to turn off all tech and do a family activity together. I look forward to this day, I think we all do. Recently I have had to endure a mini technology fast or at least a major slow down. I have felt crippled by the inability to keep up with work and my participation in my…
