A Little House Keeping

A Little House Keeping

I am not sure what to call it, housekeeping, digital clean up, or web maintenance. But whatever it is, it has taken up quite a bit of time and I am not yet done. In my role as K12 Technology Integration Specialist, I feel it is part of my responsibility to experiment with many of the web tools that are available for teachers. I believe I need to play with the tools to know what will be useful in different…

SNAP previews

SNAP previews

It is the weekend and I thought I would play around with my blog, much better then cleaning the house, or buying groceries. I know my blog needs a major overhaul, I am not pleased with the look, after a year it seems dark and cramped. But I still have not settled on a look or feel. Today I added SNAP preview to my blog. I have seen it on a few blogs I read and thought I would give…

More toys for my daughter

More toys for my daughter

The Tech Savvy Educator shared a free art program, ArtRage, which I passed on to my daughter. She loves it and took to it in minuets. I feel like a bad mother giving her one more thing to distract her from her school work. She has such a creative spirit now she has one more tool to show it off.

I have lived or travelled in many places; Ghana, Jordan, Korea, Thailand, England, Syria,…

Linerider – some fun

Linerider – some fun

A simple experiment in art, created for one student’s illustration course, Line Rider is a unique online toy which allows users to hurtle a hapless scarf-clad man down steep hills of dizzying height, huge jumps, and end over end flips with just a pencil. The Tech Savvy Educator I needed a good laugh and really enjoyed this. I’ll think about the educational implacations later. Thanks Ben ! Blogged with Flock

Talkr

Talkr

In the spirit of universal design I have created a free Talkr account which allowed me to install a Talkr plugin. This plugin turns my blog posts to mp3 audio files. It is a computer generated voice but is not to bad to listen to. This allows people to subscribe to the audio feed, and listen to them on their mp3 player, or right from the blog post. This is a pretty amazing tool. Let me know what you think.
