When it comes to providing an on-line component for professional development in my district we have been using Moodle and wikispaces and Google groups. Depending on the length of the professional development or proficiency of users these tools have served us well. But I have been taking a look at Ning as an option. As we develop more professional learning communities, could Ning be a more appropriate tool? Would creating a social network for each group foster a deeper level of collaboration? Anyone have experience with Ning that could lend some insight? Your comments would be appreciated.
