Plymouth Teachers Enter Second Life
Today I had the wonderful opportunity to help twenty four k-12 teachers from Plymouth Public Schools enter Second Life. These teachers are part of the Lighthouse Learning project. It is was so much fun to see them be so willing to try something so different. I think they are off to a great start. So if you meet some new people roaming around the education islands please be kind and offer a helping hand.
Technical note: SL eventually stopped participants from making accounts.. seems their servers thought that it was a spam attack as the school appears as a single IP. SL support’s solution – go to different locations, hard to do when you are in the middle of a training session. So next time I think I will have them create an account at home before the session. This hopefully will prevent the last couple of accounts created from being blocked.

I though this was relevant regarding the Secondlife discussions – Greenbush is an education service center in Kansas working on come pretty interesting and “forward looking” projects. One of the more interesting projects is the Edusim virtual classroom here http://edusim.greenbush.us
